Fan Art Friday: Starfire From Teen Titans Go!, Mokona Larg and Soeul from Tsubasa Resevior Chronicle and xxxHoLic and Luffy from One Piece

Happy Friday Everyone! I hope you're all having a brilliant day and also have a great month. As it is the last Friday of the month, here are three fan arts for today. All of these were created on Photoshop CS3. They all were pen sketches and were transformed into digital works.

The first fan art is Luffy from One Piece. I thought I’d do him as chibi for a friend of mine. He’s celebrating his birthday today. I have to say it is quite interesting in digital form:

The next fanart is of the the two Mokona’s from Tsubasa Resevior Chronicle and xxxHoLic. Larg is from xxxHoLic and Soeul is from Tsubasa. This was previously a pen sketch and modified and improved on Photoshop CS3:

The final fan art is of Starfire from Teen Titans. This was another cartoon that I watched when in my teens. PuffyAmiYumi sang the theme song. There were times when the theme song was sang in Japanese and of course back then I was aware of the language but did not understand what it meant. Over time as I while watching the series, I stumbled upon this song when the Teen Titans was going after a villain from the UK. I forgot the villains name. Sorry! (^_^;):

Fan Art Friday: Black Lady From Sailor Moon and The Hay and Flower Windmill from The RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show 2013

Hello Everyone and Happy Fan Art Friday! Today I'll be show another two fan arts. Both of them were previously pencil sketches and were then created on Photoshop CS3.

The first one is of Black Lady from the manga and anime Sailor Moon. As I have previously mentioned a few posts before, I'm currently reading and also enjoying thoroughly. I thought I will create another fan art. Although I prefer male villains to female villains, the female villain was quite interesting. For those who are familiar with the manga as well as the anime would know what would happen. I think I was most satisfied what happened to her in the end. *Smiles* I'm quite surprised of how the drawing turned out:

The next drawing is based on a photo that I took at the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show 2013. I did a pencil sketch first then drew it again on Photoshop CS3. So far I'm very impressed with the results. The only changes that I made was the sky. I was not satisfied with the original photo so I chose to change it. This will be given to a work colleague of mine who had asked me to do this Hay and Flower Windmill for her. I hope she likes it:

As always there will be more fan are next week, thanks for visiting my blog and feel free to leave a comment. \(^_~)/

Dark and Light Story 2: Prelude to Mid-Summer Story 3/3

Hello Everyone! I hope you are all well. Here is the Dark and Light Story 2, which is prequel to the Mid-Summer story.

Other than receiving a lot of views from many countries from around the world, the most views seem to be from the UK, USA and surprisingly Russia.

As a result of this I thought that would make the princess wear a 'Duniasha' (dress) and a Kokoshnik (hat). Her intended suitor is wearing clothes which is from Colonial America during the 1700's. The villian of the story is of course from the UK and I thought that I would create the dress that she wears.

Here are the initial sketches for this story. The first is of the Russian Princess and the Colonial Officer and the ring used in the story:

For the female Villain I made two character designs. The first one was inspired by Pink's song 'True Love'. featuring Lilly Allen. I likes the hairstyle that Lilly Allen had, but I chose not to use it was too common. So I did the second one and I felt satisfied.:

Here are also the facial expressions for all three characters:

Just like my last Dark and Light story, this story will follow the same procedure, but the colours are different. The colours used in this story and also the Mid-Summer Story are based on the Irish girl band  B*Witched's second album 'Awake and Breathe' I adored the cover so much, that I thought I would follow suit with both stories. The song that inspired me to create this story was the track 'To You I belong':

I will be creating another Dark and Light story. This will be shown hopefully after I find out the short list of the Manga Jiman Competiton that is been held this year. Whenever I am or not part of the short-list I will be showing it around the month of January.

The next to follow is the pencil sketches of the Mid-Summer Story....stay tuned! \(^o^)/

Head Cast Sketches from the National Portrait Gallery 2 \(^_^)/

Hello Everyone,

I hope you are all OK! I thought that I would show you some more Head cast sketches that I made last Sunday. It's been a bit of a while since I've did these. Most of the head casts are of women who have made a significance during the early 20th Century and also a few men from the Victorian Era. I hope you like them:

I chose to do the same head cast that you saw in my last post. I will draw her again but most probably from different sides.

I loved drawing the male head casts particularly with beards. I found it quite experimental to draw. The last head cast was quite difficult to to and I felt had to take my time completing it. It took me around 15 minutes to complete.

There will be more Head casts soon. Most probably within the next two weeks. I'm looking forward to doing more. The next batch will be of only men head casts.

Fan Art Friday: Nurse on Call by Edith Cotterill and Laputa Castle in the Sky Fan Art (^_~)

Hi Everyone and Happy Fan Art Friday! Today's fan art were all drawn by hand and then modified on Photoshop CS3. Other than adjusting to the use of traditional Materials I thought that at times I might switch to digital drawing. It has been a while since I've used Photoshop. I will still use traditional materials for my work.

The first fan art is of the novel which I am currently reading called 'Nurse On Call' by Edith Cotterill. So far I'm loving the novel so far and I thought I will create another fan art. This is the third one that I've created. I've chose to draw Edith from the side instead of the centre and also draw different periods of her life quite differently. The last two drawing were in Watercolour paints and I felt that I rushed these pieces. This one is in the form of a digital drawing. I hope you all like it:

The next fan art is of the Studio Ghibli movie 'Laptuta Castle in the Sky'. Strangely, this was the first movie that I saw briefly when I was about eleven or twelve. It came on channel 4. Back then I was a bit put off by some of the first few scenes and immediately changed the channel. It wasn't until 2008 when I watched it  again and realised that I should have remained patient and watched the whole movie. I chose to make this fan art because it was in fact the first Studio Ghibli movie that I watched quite a bit Where as 'Spirited Away' was the movie I probably enjoyed the most. There are in fact more of these movies that I really enjoy and I hope to make a fan art of these films at some point:

There will be more fan art next week. Thank You for stopping by and for reading my blog. Please leave a comment! (^_~)

Fan Art Friday: Goku and Chichi from Dragonball Z

Happy September and Happy Fan Art Friday! I thought I'd show you only one fan art today as it took me a long while to complete. I received my laptop back a week ago and I thought that it would be great to do a fan art on Photoshop CS3.

There were so many mistake that I made while creating this piece that I was willing to give up and move on but I kept going, because who knows it might push me in different ways unknown. So to avoid myself being irritated while drawing I ended up listening to podcasts and my endless selection of music. It helped out a lot.

These two characters are Goku and Chichi from the anime Dragonball Z. I didn't watch this anime until  I was 13 or 14. It was during the Cell games and it was after this saga I adored Goku and became immensely jealous of Chichi. ( Yes, I was an Otaku that loved male character from anime and manga...I'm still am today.)

Other than the suit that's common for what Goku wears. I chose to create a dress for Chichi and create a background for both of them. It was fun making it. (^_^) I hope you like it:

There were more fan art that I created. Two of them are as digitally inked and the other is in pencil form. I will complete these and maybe make more for next Friday. Have a great week and a great month. Thanks for visiting my blog and please leave a comment. (^_~)
