Saturday Drawings!

Good Morning Everyone! Today I thought I'd post up two drawings that I did this year. One of them was completed yesterday and the other was completed sometime this year:

The first sketch was created because I wanted to draw something different. I thought that an elf girl reading would be something cool.

The second digital drawing is based on a dream that I had this week of when I spoke to someone regarding a fairy competition. It never happened in reality. But I was quite intrigued and so I created the drawing.

I'm not so sure if I'll post up more next Saturday but we'll just have to wait and see.

Fan Art Friday: Competition Entries

Happy Fan Art Friday Everyone! Today I'll be posting up one fan art. This is for a competition. Both of them were created as pencil sketches then changed and improved on photoshop.

The first one is of a crime fiction called the Hattrick Detective By InkyRose. I read a case from this series sometime last year. I really enjoyed it and I thought I do something based on the series. One of the stories that I read was called 'The case of the Tear-away Train. The very first pencil sketch wasn't to my best interest so I decided to work even more hard to complete it in it's first stages. Although you see here is the completed version, the pencil sketch was a success.
This version took me most of the afternoon until 8pm on sunday. It was worth every moment:

There will be more fan art next week. Thank you for visiting my blog and please leave a comment.

Fan Art Friday: Pieces by Uniq Sistar (Good Friday Special)

Happy Good Friday and Happy Fan Art Friday everyone! Today I'll be showing only one fan art. This is of a drawing of a poem called 'Pieces' by a poet called Uniq Sistar. She is a very good friend of mine and I thought that it would be great if I did a drawing based on one of her poems. I hoped to express in this drawing is that we have different part of ourselves and combined together we become ourselves. Also part of us are expressed when we face different people each day. Will there be anyone who can handle the whole puzzle? This poem explains this issue and how it can be solved. If you would like to listen to this poem then click here. Also she has a page on Youtube feel free to subscribe by clicking here. If you like what you see then have a look at her blog by clicking here.:

There will be more fan art next week. Thank you for visiting my blog and please leave a comment.

Fan Art Friday: Elmo from Sesame Street by Seasme Workshop, Sasha from The Summer of Blake Sinclair by Sarah Burgess, Piccolo from Dragonball & Dragonball Z and A Self-Portrait by ULP

Happy Fan Art Friday everyone. Today I'll be showing four fan arts. Three of them were all pen sketches, two of them were changed and modified on Photoshop.

The first fan art is of Elmo which is from the children's show Sesame Street.  It's a production of the Sesame Workshop. The are a couple of characters that I love in this show. Elmo is one of them. This show has been around since the late 60's and has made an impact on many generations including mine. There were a couple of things that I enjoyed while watching the show. There will be moments where there will be mini-videos of songs about putting you litter in the bin as well as the song about the 'Library'. This song has stuck in my head for many years...well the chorus still remains in my head. It went like this:

"Yes, in the library,
You will find
Books of every
shape and kind
In the library
the li-li-li-library"

It did force me to go to the library, but it revealed how libraries can be exciting. Another thing that I quite liked was that one of the actress of the show spoke Sign Language. In this case it was American sign language. I thought that this was incredible because it gave insight to those who were deaf. The third thing that I quite like was the ending theme of the show. It was an interesting up-tempo version of the main theme. I remember when I was a child my brothers and I would dance to it.
I'm not sure if the theme song is still used, since it has been a while since I've watched it. Elmo is seen here waving. It didn't take me that long to make this drawing but I do love what I've done.:

The next fan art is of Sasha from the web-comic "The Summer of Blake Sinclair" by Sarah Burgess. I began reading the comic sometime last year during the winter on a Sunday afternoon. It's all about a guy called Blake and how he spends his summer. Through him you see a whole range of characters. I went through a lot of the comic but stopped at some point. Sasha is character that I quite like. He seems pretty cool. While creating a couple of sketches on Monday decided to draw him. He looks slightly different in the comic. I've drawn him from memory.:

The next fan art is of Piccolo from Dragonball and Dragonball Z. Although he is isn't seen within the point of when I'm reading the manga, but he will appear at some point. His appearance in DragoballZ is much more significant. I thought that it will be good to draw him. Not only because he is a great and awesome character but also because while I was at the London Comic Con last year, I saw someone cosplaying as piccolo. This person created the ears and the clothes too. The background was created by using a pattern stamp:

The fourth fan art is a self-portait of myself by an artist friend of mine called Ulises. P Lopez . He's one of the volunteers of the cartoon museum just like myself. We talked about comics in general as well as the the current projects that we are doing. He creates comic strips called Shoyu comims which are in English. If you look on the website you'll see the same comic in four other languages. He also has a main website but it is in Spanish. If you like what you see and would like to join his face book page by click here. He used pencil to create this drawing and it didn't take long at all. I also did a sketch of him too. But I have no idea when this will be shown on his blog. I'm not so sure. Either way I'm happy.:

There will be more fan art next week. Thank you for visiting my blog and please leave a comment.

Fan Art Friday: Nonoko from My Neighbours The Yamadas by Hisachi Ishii and Isao Takahata and Mr Bump From Mr Men and Little Miss by Roger Hardgreaves

Happy April and Happy Fan Art Friday! Today I'll be showing two fan arts. Both of them were pencil sketches and the changed and modified on Photoshop.

The first fan art is of Nonoko from the movie My Neighbours the Yamadas by Isao Takahata. This was a Studio Ghibli movie that I watched back in 2011 and I really really enjoyed it. I laughed so much and the songs were pretty good too. From doing a bit more research I found out the original comic is by Hisachi Ishii. My favourite character is Nonoko so I thought that it would be awesome if I draw her. While studying Japanese I decided to watch the DVD again and what I noticed is that there are a couple of words that I understand. I was absolutely thrilled.:

The second and final fan art for today is of Mr Bump from Mr Men and Little Miss by Roger Hardgreaves. I remember in my childhood reading the books as well as watching the series. It was hilarious. There were moments were I marvelled of the things that each of these characters go through. Mr Bump is my favourite. I got a key chain of him. The pencil sketch of Mr Bump was not to my best effort so I decided to make some improvements on Photoshop. I thought I create him with a happy smile. This was a success:

There will be more Fan Art next week. Thank you for visiting my blog and please leave a comment. Have a brilliant month. (^_^)
