Competitions 2009/2010

During this month, I have submitted some images for some competitons that were are around one of them is on a website called Life Support. This is how it looked like:

This entry is based on the ways that you can benefit from the recession.

You can vote for this image here. Thanks for your vote! ^_^

Another competition, is called the Kiseki Competition. Kiseki is a magazine in South Australia that reviews works on Manga and Anime drawings. The competition is international, so you can check it out and see if you can submit.

Here is my Entry:

This entry is based on how human relationships can begin from a strong foundation, for example it begins from the roots and grows into a tree. The couple shown here symbolises this.

Another competition that I have also entered was called the Manga Jiman competition that has taken place last year. All entries had to be based on 'The Sun' Since Japan is the first country to have the sun. My Entry was based on a girl called Rae, who tries to catch the sun. Here is how the protagonist is visualised:

The book will be published, with the help of a friend called Chris Bottoms. Who is a self- published artist in comics.

Finally after the Manga Jiman competition, I asked for some feedback from some of the Judges. This was from a well known comic book artist called ILYA.

Final Major Project: The Escapist (Part 5)

I have now completed the images in coloured inks, here are four examples which are sections from the story:

Once these have been completed, I will choose one and apply it on to the front covers. The book will be formed on book smart and be published. I will also remove some of the images from the story because I have realised that not all of the images do not have to be seen.

Final Major Project: The Escapist (Part 4)

So far, I have sketched out the story sequences in pencil, they will be coloured in coloured inks.

Here are two examples:

Also there will be a likely chance that I will be creating A5 postcards or prints of each of the characters. The concept came to be as I stepped out of the bus on a Thursday afternoon on my
way home from university. I visualised a girl with her own signature textured pattern expressed in her hair, eyebrows, eyes, and mouth. The only areas that would be left white would be her skin. These Prints have been completed, here are Kylan and Ria as the first two examples:

When the drawing were completed in an 0.8 fineliner, I decided to create the signature design here are Kylan and Ria's signature pattern design:
