Happy Fan Art Friday everyone. Today I'll be showing four fan arts. Three of them were all pen sketches, two of them were changed and modified on Photoshop.
The first fan art is of Elmo which is from the children's show Sesame Street. It's a production of the Sesame Workshop. The are a couple of characters that I love in this show. Elmo is one of them. This show has been around since the late 60's and has made an impact on many generations including mine. There were a couple of things that I enjoyed while watching the show. There will be moments where there will be mini-videos of songs about putting you litter in the bin as well as the song about the 'Library'. This song has stuck in my head for many years...well the chorus still remains in my head. It went like this:
"Yes, in the library,
You will find
Books of every
shape and kind
In the library
the li-li-li-library"
It did force me to go to the library, but it revealed how libraries can be exciting. Another thing that I quite liked was that one of the actress of the show spoke Sign Language. In this case it was American sign language. I thought that this was incredible because it gave insight to those who were deaf. The third thing that I quite like was the ending theme of the show. It was an interesting up-tempo version of the main theme. I remember when I was a child my brothers and I would dance to it.
I'm not sure if the theme song is still used, since it has been a while since I've watched it. Elmo is seen here waving. It didn't take me that long to make this drawing but I do love what I've done.:
The next fan art is of Sasha from the web-comic "The Summer of Blake Sinclair" by Sarah Burgess. I began reading the comic sometime last year during the winter on a Sunday afternoon. It's all about a guy called Blake and how he spends his summer. Through him you see a whole range of characters. I went through a lot of the comic but stopped at some point. Sasha is character that I quite like. He seems pretty cool. While creating a couple of sketches on Monday decided to draw him. He looks slightly different in the comic. I've drawn him from memory.:
The next fan art is of Piccolo from Dragonball and Dragonball Z. Although he is isn't seen within the point of when I'm reading the manga, but he will appear at some point. His appearance in DragoballZ is much more significant. I thought that it will be good to draw him. Not only because he is a great and awesome character but also because while I was at the London Comic Con last year, I saw someone cosplaying as piccolo. This person created the ears and the clothes too. The background was created by using a pattern stamp:
The fourth fan art is a self-portait of myself by an artist friend of mine called Ulises. P Lopez . He's one of the volunteers of the cartoon museum just like myself. We talked about comics in general as well as the the current projects that we are doing. He creates comic strips called Shoyu comims which are in English. If you look on the website you'll see the same comic in four other languages. He also has a main website but it is in Spanish. If you like what you see and would like to join his face book page by click here. He used pencil to create this drawing and it didn't take long at all. I also did a sketch of him too. But I have no idea when this will be shown on his blog. I'm not so sure. Either way I'm happy.:
There will be more fan art next week. Thank you for visiting my blog and please leave a comment.
