Fan Art Friday: Megumi and Suzuka From Captive Hearts, Io Ayase from Real Storm, Mey-Rin from Black Butler and Edith Cotterill from Nurse on Call. (^_~)

Happy Friday Everyone! Here is another four fan arts that I'll be showing you today. Three of them are from manga which are volumes. The fourth fan art is from a memoir that I am currently reading. All of these works were created with a 2B Pencil and Watercolour Paints.

Before I begin, I have to admit something, I've been trying to avoid reading Shoujo comics for the past two years. These types of comics were the reason why I got in to manga in the first place. The reason why I chose to stop was that I felt that I was growing old and I tried to find some Josei manga to even out the odds. Ultimately I gave in and decided to continue reading them. I realized how amazing funny this type of genre is and I have now chosen to continue reading this genre from now on.

The first fan art is from the manga Captive Hearts by Matsuri Hino. I think most of you would know that she is the creator of the manga Vampire Knight. Over the years, I have seen people dress up as some of the characters from this manga. Although I was was aware that she created the series I chose to read Captive Hearts, just to get a feel of the stories that she creates. This week, I read the first volume and I found it really difficult to put down. I read the volume about 30 times. Here are the two protagonists of the story Megumi and Suzuka. I was quite surprised that Megumi is a guy. I assumed that this name was suitable for a girl. (^_^;)

In addition to this story, there is also two short stories, I thought I'd do a fan art about one of them. This is Io Ayase who is the main protagonist of the short story called 'Real Storm' This was another short manga that I could not stop reading. I admired how Io changed from being a shy and quiet girl to a strong and confident girl:

The next fan art is of Mey-Rin from the manga Black Butler by Yana Toboso. She became my second favourite character after reading volume 8. When I finished this particular volume, I realized that a few questions that I had regarding the servants were answered. I was aware of this series back in 2010 I think when the anime was released, but I chose to wait and read the manga. I'm glad I did. I think I made Mey-Rin amazingly sweet here. I think next time I'll draw a better version of her:

The final Fan art for today, is of Edith Cotterill from the memoir, 'Nurse on Call'. I chose to read this book as part of my research of a comic entry that I'll be starting next month. (I'll be showing the process of the comic entry, throughout the month of September so stay tuned.) I began reading this memoir this week and I loving it so far. I decided to do a recollection of what I've read so far. There might be a possibility that I'll do more fan art of this novel, as I am currently reading it:

There will be more fan art next week. Thank you for visiting my blog and please leave a comment. (^_~)
