Fan Art Friday: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles by Kevin Eastman Peter Laird , Calcifer from Howls Moving Castle by Diane Wynne Jones and Megara from Disney's Herucles

Happy September and Happy Fan Art Friday today I'll be showing three drawing that are all in colouring pencils.

The first fan art is of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles by Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman. I'm a big fan of the turtles and I have been watching the TV during the 90's. It's awesome, great and spectacular. My favourite turtles was either between Raphael and Donatello.  I loved everything about the fanchise. The movies, the cartoon and the live-action series. I think the only thing that I have haven't seen ore read is the comics. I would love to read them some day. There might be possibility that I might draw more characters from this series. I think it is timeless and it has been very appealing to every generation who have come across them either through the comics or TV. I don't think I can every get tired of them.:

The next fan art is of Calcifer from Howl's Moving Castle by Diane Wynne Jones. The movie was directed by Hayao Miyazaki. Although I haven't read the book I have watched the Studio Ghibli movie and  I think it is incredible. I've watched both the  Japanese and English version and surprising both of the was really good. I decided to draw Calcifer because he was hilarious in both versions. He also looked quite cute too. Although he is fire I really wanted to hug him after watching the movie. I decided to make him very cute in this drawing:

The third and final fan art for today is of Megara from the Disney movie Hercules. This is a great movie. Around the time it was released here in the UK, it was advertised everywhere. It was so big that the premiere was shown on TV too. I was very intrigued. However I did not watch it until it was on the Disney Channel. I really enjoyed and Megara was my favourite. I adore the fact that the story was set in Ancient Greece as I was fascinated about Greece when I was very young. I've drawn Megara quite randomly during this week and I thought that it will be awesome to great to shown here on my blog.:

Fan Art Friday: Miaka from Fushigi Yugi by Yuu Watase, Briony and Mercedes from Once Upon A Time by Sonia Leong and Lilly Beecham from Her Cinderella Season by Deb Marlowe

Happy November and Happy Fan Art Friday. Today I'll be showing three drawings. But don't worry these drawings are recent. These drawings are inked drawings. I hope you like them.


The first fan art is Miaka from the manga Fushigi Yugi. I read this back when I was 14. It was one of the first four manga that I read and I absolutley love it. I would have drawn my favourite character Nuriko, but that's a fan art for a different day. Miaka is I think probably one of the main female characters who goes through a lot. There are times where she she's frail and of course unable conquer some situation but there are times where she fights but does it in a way that's worth every moment. It has been a while since I read the manga but the plot will forever in my head. There was a certain point where I was all most moved to tears too. This is one manga that I'll most surely never forget because there was a huge depth of reality in this comic. It made me feel for a lot of the characters as well as her too. Plus this was set in a fantasy setting and Watase brings it to life in such a great way. I hope one day you get to read it. Maybe it may not be your cup of tea, but read it anyway. It was thanks to this manga that it sparked my immense interest in manga:

The next fan art for today is of Briony and Mercedes from the manga Once Upon A Time by Sonia Leong. This manga was published by Sweatdrop Studios. It was another manga that I read back in my teens but this was when the series was released as issues. I remember going to the London Anime Club back in 2004. The club was held at Hog's Head and it was held every last Sunday of the month. I went there largely to make friends but I was incredibly shy. It was also where I found out about Sweatdrop. I saw a lot of stand alone comics and well as volumes. There was the rare occasion where some of them would come down to visit and mingle. I met Sonia Leong here too. She's one of the first UK manga artists that I've met and come to respect a lot. It was through Sweatdrop that I found out about other members and also added myself to the forums. Sonia and the other members are in fact great people and I've come to admire them over the years. I think my interest in manga sparked a whole lot more because back then I found out that there were UK comic artists who were making comics ^_^:

The final fan art for today is Lilly Beecham from Her Cinderella Season by Deb Marlowe. I thought I'd draw her again because she gets to be with my favourite character Jack Alden. I thought I'd draw her from a side view which surprisingly looks very interesting. It'll be a while until another Regency novel but I felt it was the least that I can do to another fan art from this awesome novel:

Fan Art Friday: Mihoshi from Tenchi Muyo/Universe/Pretty Sammy/In Tokyo/GXP Series

Happy Fan Art Friday Everyone! I hope you're all have a great day and are making the most of it. There will be only one fan art today, as I'm currently working on my Manga Jiman entry. This fan art was created using Photoshop.


This fan art is of Mihoshi from the Tenchi series. She is usually known as the klutz out of most if the characters and she also brings a lot of humour in the series. She is also the side-kick of one of the other characters who is called Kiyone. I might probably draw her sometime soon. In this drawing I chose to dress her up in a dress that I made up, let her hair out and create an amusing background to go with it. Also she was created from memory. I hope you all like it.:

Fan Art Friday: Stephanie from The Parisian's Return by Julia Stagg and Janice from Princess Prince by Tomoko Taniguchi

Hello Everyone, Happy October, Happy Black History Month and Happy Fan art Friday! Today I'll be showing another two fan arts that were previously drawn as sketches, with a 0.5 Pen. The were modified and changed on Photoshop. I created and used screen-tones to add effect and I have to say they look pretty cool.

In the UK right now is Black History Month and within the community libraries within my area as well as museums, have come together to create a few events that will be taking place. I will no doubt be turning up to some of these and most probably report on what happens. I'll select a few and see if I can turn up if work doesn't get in the middle of it. I thought that I should draw Janice from the shoujo manga Princess Prince by Tomoko Taniguchi. A great friend of mine back in my mid-teens recommend manga to me and I've been reading since. I borrowed this manga from her and I read and LOVED it.
Janice arrives within a fantasy kingdom of the two main protagonist where one is a price and the other is also a prince but has to dress up like a princes. The reasons why this happens I cannot reveal; you'll have to find and read the manga to find out. Janice's arrival was really awesome. Also I loved this part of the story a lot more, considering that this was the start of the seeing Black characters in comics:

The final drawing for today is Stephanie from the novel The Parisian's Return by  Julia Stagg. This is the second book of the Fogas Chronicles that she has created and I have to say I absolutely loved it. I met Julia at 'The France Show'. This was an event that took place at Earl's Court earlier this year. I worked as a event steward and the company that I work for provided security for the show. The event was absolutely brilliant too! I loved how they put the flags of France on the top of the entrance of the show. It made me feel that I was steeping into another world. During my break I browsed around and spotted a book shelf of books about France and language packs about French. While looking at one of her novels she approached and spoke to me. She was really nice and gave me three postcards of her books, since I couldn't decide which one I could by. The Parisian's Return was the one I chose. Since I enjoyed reading this novel I thought I'd draw one of the characters who is the one of the main protagonists in the novel. I'm really impressed of how this picture came out.:

I'll most probably do some more character drawings from these novels. There's the third novel called 'The French Postmistress' which was out this year and the first novel called 'L'Auberge' which I'll be reading very soon. (I loaned it from my local library.) \(^o^)/
