Hi everyone! I hope you're all having a brilliant month. Here are some more head sketches that I created from the past two Sundays from the National Portrait Gallery.. (This does not include the Sunday that has just gone.) Throughout the past three months, there was a reason why I chose to do these sketches of the casts. I yearned to improve on portraiture and also improve on drawing men. This of course turned out to be very successful. As this is the last couple of days until the end of this month I thought I share them with you:
Hopefully next Sunday, I'll be making as many head casts sketches as I possibly can, because I'll be moving on to creating more sketches on other things. I'm probably thinking either Jewellery or maybe clothes from different countries around the world. This might be done randomly. I might probably make more head casts sketches again at some point as I've had a lot of fun making these ones.
Once again Thanks for visiting my blog and please leave a comment! \(^0^)/

Fan Art Friday: Biomecha by Laura Watton \(^_^)/
Greetings Everyone and Happy Fan Art Friday! Today I'll be showing two very old fan arts that I created back in 2007. These two drawings were created using 0.5 Black Pen and colouring pencils.
Today's fan art is based on the comic Biomecha by Laura Watton. It's story set in the future about a guy called Toshio who ends up meeting a whole bunch of friends within a school for people who have special powers but with problems. There is a reason as to why he's in the school but you'll have to read the manga to find out. The plot is very interesting. (^_^)
Around the days of my foundation course I read this comic and it is very very interesting. Laura's a freelance illustrator, an artist and also a designer and she has been creating comics since her teens. She's someone of whom I've come to admire a lot and I do love her creativity. I have met her twice I think and she's really really cool:
There will be more fan art next week, thanks again for visiting and please leave a comment.

Fan Art Friday: AyaTakeo Story by Lloyd Prentice and Illustrated By Sonia Leong and Goku from Dragonball by Akira Toriyama
Happy Fan Art Friday Everyone! I hope you're all having a brilliant month so far. Since I'll be reaching the final stages of my Manga Jiman Entry, I spared enough time to create at least two fan arts. Both of these are pencil sketches. the type of pencil that I used was a 2H Pencil.
The first fan art is of the webcomic and manga called AyaTakeo. The story was written by Llyod Prentice and Illustrated by Sonia Leong. The story itself it's absolutely incredble. I remember when it was a webcomic and I would wake up very early every Sunday to read the next page of the story. Sonia Leong is a brilliant Mangaka, and she's been doing comics for a long while. I've met her and she's lovely and brilliantly cool! I respect her not only as a person but as an artist. The drawing is of the main characters of the story as chibi and also in their human form in the background. I intentionally covered it up with the chibi characters. When I completed the picture I started to laugh and smiled.:

The next fan art is of Goku's younger self from the manga and anime Dragonball by Akira Toriyama. I thought I'd draw him again as I'll be reading the next volume. I'm very very excited about this. In fact I'm always excited whenever I read and old or new manga.
There will be more fan art! As always thank you so much for visiting my blog and please leave a comment.

Fan Art Friday: Mihoshi from Tenchi Muyo/Universe/Pretty Sammy/In Tokyo/GXP Series
Happy Fan Art Friday Everyone! I hope you're all have a great day and are making the most of it. There will be only one fan art today, as I'm currently working on my Manga Jiman entry. This fan art was created using Photoshop.
This fan art is of Mihoshi from the Tenchi series. She is usually known as the klutz out of most if the characters and she also brings a lot of humour in the series. She is also the side-kick of one of the other characters who is called Kiyone. I might probably draw her sometime soon. In this drawing I chose to dress her up in a dress that I made up, let her hair out and create an amusing background to go with it. Also she was created from memory. I hope you all like it.:

More Head Sketches! (^_^)
Hi everyone, I hope you're doing OK, and that you're enjoying October so far, I thought I'd show you some more head sketches. I did mention in my last post, that I will making more head cast sketches of men but I wanted to do at least another two women. One of them will show at the start and the other at the end.:
I thought that I will show the same favourite head cast again but draw her from a side view. It proved to work but I made a couple of mistakes but all in all it still turned out to be really good.
I will be making more Head Casts from the National Portrait Gallery next Sunday. I'm quite excited about this. I might include some portrait too. ^_^

Three Year Anniversary in Job and Initial Sketches for Manga Jiman Competition 2013
Hello Everyone! Today marks three years since I have been working as an Event Steward. To celebrate I created this digital drawing. This sketch was created during the second to last week of September, then edited on Photoshop:
Along side this drawing there was going to be a short silent story about one of the experiences that I had while in this job. But I couldn't do it since I have my Manga Jiman competition entry complete. So I felt that it would be better to show you the initial skteches for each of the characters that will be in the comic:
Here are the first initial sketches of the main character Laeticia:

* This is the chosen character design for the main protagonist Laeticia. Here are the facial expressions of this sketch:
The next main protagonist was the senior doctor Derek. This character I felt was very very difficult to do, the facial features were OK, but what I felt that was difficult was to find a suitable hairstyle for him. I did a couple while standing at the bus stop on the way home from church, the remainder of these sketches took place while I was at my lunch break at work and also during the train ride home.
In total I made about twelve sketches, here it is:
From the sixth character design I created facial expression for each of them:
* The chosen character and facial design indicated here was at first going to be the chosen image. It was heavily influenced after I watched this cologne advertisement, while waiting for some music videos to appear. I was mesmerised on how this guy looked and I felt he looked quite sleek. When I completing the sketches I decided to say 'No' because I felt the hairstyle was commonly used. I was left gutted decided to choose the last character design.
**After completing each character and facial expression, this chosen image which will be how Derek will be depicted I felt was the right one.
Only one character and facial expression design for one of the character Cain is shown here:
The final character for this Manga Jiman entry is the character SelenaMay:
*The initial sketch here is the chosen character for the manga. Here is the facial expressions:
I'm currently nearly finishing the comic in pencil. By the end of this week the pages will be inked and imported to photoshop for the next stages.

A Saturday Drawing from 2009!
Hi every one I thought I'd share a drawing that I did back from 2009. I looked back in my archive art work decided to show you one.
This sketch didn't really take me that long to do. (Roughly 5-10 minutes.) It's two kids eating doughnuts:
I might change it into a digital drawing or I might change it into a water colour painting. Who knows.

Fan Art Friday: Stephanie from The Parisian's Return by Julia Stagg and Janice from Princess Prince by Tomoko Taniguchi
Hello Everyone, Happy October, Happy Black History Month and Happy Fan art Friday! Today I'll be showing another two fan arts that were previously drawn as sketches, with a 0.5 Pen. The were modified and changed on Photoshop. I created and used screen-tones to add effect and I have to say they look pretty cool.
In the UK right now is Black History Month and within the community libraries within my area as well as museums, have come together to create a few events that will be taking place. I will no doubt be turning up to some of these and most probably report on what happens. I'll select a few and see if I can turn up if work doesn't get in the middle of it. I thought that I should draw Janice from the shoujo manga Princess Prince by Tomoko Taniguchi. A great friend of mine back in my mid-teens recommend manga to me and I've been reading since. I borrowed this manga from her and I read and LOVED it.
Janice arrives within a fantasy kingdom of the two main protagonist where one is a price and the other is also a prince but has to dress up like a princes. The reasons why this happens I cannot reveal; you'll have to find and read the manga to find out. Janice's arrival was really awesome. Also I loved this part of the story a lot more, considering that this was the start of the seeing Black characters in comics:
The final drawing for today is Stephanie from the novel The Parisian's Return by Julia Stagg. This is the second book of the Fogas Chronicles that she has created and I have to say I absolutely loved it. I met Julia at 'The France Show'. This was an event that took place at Earl's Court earlier this year. I worked as a event steward and the company that I work for provided security for the show. The event was absolutely brilliant too! I loved how they put the flags of France on the top of the entrance of the show. It made me feel that I was steeping into another world. During my break I browsed around and spotted a book shelf of books about France and language packs about French. While looking at one of her novels she approached and spoke to me. She was really nice and gave me three postcards of her books, since I couldn't decide which one I could by. The Parisian's Return was the one I chose. Since I enjoyed reading this novel I thought I'd draw one of the characters who is the one of the main protagonists in the novel. I'm really impressed of how this picture came out.:
I'll most probably do some more character drawings from these novels. There's the third novel called 'The French Postmistress' which was out this year and the first novel called 'L'Auberge' which I'll be reading very soon. (I loaned it from my local library.) \(^o^)/
There will be more fan art next week. Thank you for visiting! Please leave a comment and have a amazing October!
